The Art of Coffins
I have a new solo show coming up next year, at the Arts Council in Marshall, NC.
It's called The Art of Coffins: a selection of my latest paintings and animated films. The show opens on Friday, January 29.
Don't say I didn't give you enough time to plan a trip to North Carolina.

Light of No Understanding
A few months ago, Joe Young asked me to make a painting based on one of his stories, for the launch party of his book Easter Rabbit.
The party happened in Baltimore last Saturday.
Easter Rabbit is out. Buy it here.
My piece Light of No Understanding is hanging on the walls of The Hexagon, in Baltimore, together with art by Lauren Boilini, Graham Coreil-Allen, Kathy Fahey, Paul Jeanes, Magnolia Laurie and Christine Sajecki.

60 WRITERS/60 PLACES in NYC tonight
There will be a screening of 60 WRITERS/60 PLACES, the film I made with Michael Kimball, in New York City tonight. It's at the PPOW Gallery. Reception at 6:30. Screening at 7:30.
We screened 60 WRITERS/60 PLACES for the students of Pratt Institute yesterday, and it was great.
Time Out New York writes about the film that "the results can be striking, adding new layers of meaning—at times poignant, at times humorous—to the words."

Video for Father Murphy
I am working on an animated short film for a song by Father Murphy, which is one of my favorite bands ever. The song is called In Their Graves, from their last album ...And He Told Us to Turn to the Sun, available on CD and LP by Aagoo Records.

60 WRITERS/60 PLACES in NYC
There is a nice write-up on 60 WRITERS/60 PLACES, the film I made with Michael Kimball, in the Notable New York section of the Rumpus.
Rozalia Jovanovic writes: "The films of Michael Kimball and Luca Dipierro have at the forefront a concern with the way space is altered and engaged with when people enter the picture."
60 WRITERS/60 PLACES will premiere later this week in New York City. There are two screenings: Friday, December 11 at Pratt Institute, and Saturday, December 12 at PPOW Gallery in Chelsea.
More info, and stills and trailers on www.littleburnfilms.com.

Show in Bologna
On Sunday, December 6 my touring solo show All Around My Hands There Is Darkness opens in Bologna, at Modo. I am particularly happy to show my work in Bologna, because it's where I lived for ten years and went to college (the oldest university of the Western world: 1088).
